N turns 8!!

Exactly 2 weeks AFTER M turned 1, N was born - at 3:52 in the afternoon, after 45 minutes of labor, I had my first boy and he was 6lbs and 14 oz and 21" long. Now that baby is 8.... WOW!! N is a lot like his big sister, K! He is very smart and numbers come very easily to him. He has beautiful handwriting, a great imagination, and he's a wonderful story teller. N is right handed but when it comes to sports, the left side of his body dominates. He plays defender in soccer and kicks with his powerful left foot. He plays baseball and bats from the left side (but still throws with the right). According to Tim, these skills should prove to be powerful weapons as N grows and continues to participate in sports! N likes to make up stories and pull pranks on people! He is sensitive to the feelings and needs of others too - although he'd never want you to know that. He puts on a tough boy exterior but deep down - he does care. We just love having him in our family. The timing of his birth has turned out to be nothing short of a blessing. He has opened doorways for M that no one else ever could have. He showed M how to walk, how to talk, and so much more. He is the first one that she runs to at school when there is a problem and he is the one that can talk to her during her melt downs. Those two just click! So, to celebrate this special b-day, we threw a Lazer Tag party at Boondocks with 7 of N's closest friends. Those boys had a blast (no pun intended) and they are all ready to meet at Boondocks and do it all again! N didn't want a cake - he isn't a cake fan (I KNOW, HOW CAN THAT BE POSSIBLE?), so he requested cupcakes for his friends and ice-cream for himself! Happy B-day N.... you make us so proud... we just love watching you play soccer and baseball and hearing the new stories that you've written in school. You make us smile daily and we couldn't imagine life without you!!
