More Soccer...

Yesterday N was able to participate in a soccer clinic with, what was supposed to be, RSL coaches and Chris Scheuler (one of RSL's Left Back players - same position as N). When Tim and N arrived at the clinic it turned out that the "coaches" were actually some of the boys that play for RSL's youth competition league - still pretty cool - RIGHT?!

Anyway... they ran drills and worked on some skills and N had a great time. The kids that participated got all sorts of goodies, including a T-shirt and then they got to talk to Chris Scheuler and get his autograph. N has been collecting autographs from these players on his jersey but he didn't think to take it to practice so he got the signature on this shirt instead.

N is fairly shy when it comes to talking to people he doesn't really know. So when it was his turn to ask for an autograph he simply handed his shirt to Chris and just stood there. Tim said he knows that it took every ounce of courage and muscle that N had to do what came next. N said to Chris "good game Tuesday" - never really looking up, and in a voice that only someone with a miracle ear could hear - but Chris heard him and said "THANK YOU!" with a big smile. Nothing more was said and N broke out in a little grin, grabbed his shirt and went on his way - probably grateful to be out of there!
