Day 1 - part II

More pics from day #1...here we go!

Here, M and L are waiting at the muster station. This is the area of the ship that we are assigned to in case there is an emergency that requires us to abandon ship! This is probably the most boring part of the cruise...waiting and learning about putting on your life jacket!
Just before we pulled out of port we saw this steam boat. Do you see the steam coming off of the top back part of the boat? There was a man playing a steam organ and we could hear it! It was so awesome!
This Norwegian ship was right behind us and pulled out shortly after we did! Our ship was bigger!
St. Charles Cathedral ...bye bye New Orleans!
N is watching as we sail away! My dad is making last minute calls to his peeps! Our trip would take us down the Mississippi River for about 7 hours! It really was a neat sight to see!
This plantation once belonged to my family. My great great grandfather settled this place on the river. It was really neat to see. It's no longer in our family - it was lost in a battle - but the history of this place is significant to my family and how we settled in Louisiana.
 K has had enough already!
Time for dinner!! Tim's favorite part of the trip!
Grandma Martha and K...waiting to be served and having a deep conversation!
My beautiful girls - ready to see what eating a 4 course meal in a dinning room is all about!
MMMM...chicken tenders with a pepper salad and mustard sauce
N thought it was a delicious appetizer!
L ordered pizza for his main meal...that thing was BIG for a kid!
My appetizer - I love this stuff! It's tempura shrimp with a plum sauce on a bed of rice noodles - yummy!
M ordered a seafood pasta - she approved!
Banana split for the nut...can you say "heaven"!?
Creme Brule for M....she said it wasn't as good as the one I made for her a week ago - that made me smile!
Ah - chocolate melting cake - we meet again! ;)
Night time on deck! I love how it glows!
A little night time exploring - loads of fun!
Of course we had to watch a little of the football game on the big screen!
When we got to our room for the night - this little towel animal dog was waiting for us! Isn't he cute? I love the room stewards and their creative talents - these little animals make you smile every night!
