Roatan, Honduras is truly one of my favorite spots on this earth! I love the people, the simpleness of life, the food, to VIEW! Here are a few pics that we took while we were touring the island. They speak for themselves!
It's amazing to me how little these people have, yet how happy they are - and willing to share everything they can with you!
One of the stops we wanted to make was "West End Beach". This is the nicest public beach area on the island and we heard that the food was yummy too! The following pics are of shops and restaurants that we saw along the beach!
We stopped at Foster's and had a traditional Honduran meal (Tipical chicken). It's is a chicken dish with coconut rice & beans, friend plantains and homemade corn tortillas. So yummy!
After lunch, we walked 20 yards to the beach and got in the ocean!
After playing for about 45 minutes - we piled back in the van with Francisco (our driver) and started to make our way back towards the ship. The island is beautiful!!
We made a stop at the Cameo Factory - this is one of the oldest Cameo factories in the world and everything is still done by hand!
I loved the lamp!
N found a big anchor to play on while the ladies were looking at Cameos!
When it was time to say goodbye to Francisco, we had to get this pic! Francisco is the brother of Victor Bodden - the owner of Bodden Tours. We were very happy with our tour - but Francisco went out of his way for N! He talked soccer with N and pointed out soccer fields too. N wanted some Honduran money and Francisco gave him a few paper bills from his own wallet and then stopped at a drug store and got an assortment of coins for N as well. We tried to pay him for the exchange but he wouldn't take it! He is a great guy and we are so happy that we got to meet him!
As we were headed back to the ship, we found this funny horse!
There is Grandpa Ross up on his balcony!! He was taking pics and didn't see us (at first!)!
Me & Tim
Obligatory family pic! (Thanks for smiling, L!)
Unfortunately it was time to say goodbye to Roatan, once more. After we got back on the ship, we showered and changed clothes for dinner and then went on deck to watch the sunset as we sailed away.
It was a BEAUTIFUL day!!

Had so much fun here. Wish we could have stayed longer. The girl who made the cameos was amazing.
