1st day of school

Isn't it funny how your kids look so grown up and ready for school on the first day?! But, on the last day of school, you look back and you realize that they've really grown and that they were so small when you sent them off! Today is a day of firsts for us!
First day of school, first day of public school for K, first day of Kindergarten for N, first time to eat in the cafeteria for M, first time for them all to be together in the same school. They are so excited...here they are.....

Meet Kahlyn! She is so excited to be going into the 5th grade! Her biggest concern today was "what if I don't make any friends?". She spent last night in front of her mirror, trying to decide how to do her hair. Her goal for this year is to make A's and lots of friends!
From Mom and Dad: Do your best, keep smiling, be yourself - you'll do great!! We love you and are so proud of you and your efforts!
Meet Mykenzi! She is thrilled to be going into the first grade! Her biggest concern for today was if her lunch was packed or not! She was super excited - she got up before Mom did! M spent most of her day yesterday wearing her backpack around the house and asking "is it time yet?".
M's goal for the year is to learn to read and be a good friend.
From Mom and Dad: We love you! You worked so hard in Kindergarten and we are so proud of your efforts. You'll be able to accomplish your goals if you just keep trying. Keep that beautiful smile, be sweet - we love you!! Meet Nathan! Words can't describe the excitement that this boy has about going to Kindergarten. He was ready 2 years ago and the time is finally here! His biggest concern was making sure his baseball shirt was clean for the first day, then later it was whether or not M and K made it to their classrooms! He spent most of the day yesterday trying to cram in last minute computer time and asking if his baseball shirt was clean!
N's goals for this year are to learn to read, do homework, and play a lot on the playground!!
From Mom and Dad: Wow, we can't believe that this time is finally here for you! You are so smart and so ready - we know you'll do great! Keep being a leader and doing what you're asked and amazing things will happen for you! WE LOVE YOU!!
And so that's it - 3 of my babies are off to someone else's care. They are in the "real world" and they will learn lots of things - good and bad. I hope that I can continue to be a great support, and make our home a place where they want to be when the school day is done. We love you guys!!

Cute! It is funny how different they all look. All very unique in comparison to each other. Perhaps that is just a Christy perception having not known them during the baby years.

What a great day! Special Children with wonderful parents. I bet Lane was lonesome all by himself. The kids looked so cute for their first day of school.

N FINALLY made it! You have been saying for years that he wanted to go to school so bad and now he finally is! That is so great! K is so grown up! Alexis was up at 5am every morning the first week of school (and she didn't have to leave the house until 650). She is absoulutely LOVING Junior High! Ok well it is only the 3rd week of school. She is going to try and play the flute. Where is Ash when I need her...LOL. Oh and she is in Spanish....where are you when I need you? That's right UTAH!
