1st term P/T conf.

Tonight we had our first P/T conf. at the new school...here are a few insights (for grandparent benefit)...
K - very bright and spunky. Struggling in Math. In an AR reading program. Talented writer. Secret helper to the teacher and the one student that is currently teaching English to an ESL student. (we thought she was making that up!) Goals: To stay focused, work on attitude, work on handwriting, improve Math scores.
M - major improvement from the start of the year to now. She is starting to read and she is friends with everyone in the classroom. She is always happy. She got all A's for the first term! Goals: stay focused, work on handwriting!
N - no surprises here...above average in everything. Has lots of friends, is working on sight words, and is a good helper when he wants to be. Goals: Stay focused when the teacher is talking and keep hands to himself.
L - happy as can be, loves cookies (and can point to what cabinet they are in), has learned the meaning of 'light', 'belly', and 'bye-bye'. Goals: keep smiling, keep learning, keep messing up the girls' rooms!

As you can see, the school aged kids all have one goal in common - stay focused! No surprise to us (anyone got any good ideas for improving this skill?). We are very proud of how hard they've worked and what has been accomplished in such a short amount of time. As some of you are aware, this year holds a lot of firsts for our family and all of my kids being in the same school, or school at all, is one of them. I love P/T conf. because it helps keep me in check with my own personal goals in how I'm going to help my kids. So - way to go family! We've all worked hard and it's paying off! :)

Ah P/T conferences.........I haven't been to any for Brooklyn since she got into HS, but I still go to Lex and Logan's. I love to get the reviews of how they are actually behaving in class. For some weird reason neither one of them SIT in their chairs. They have always stood up to do their work. They even do this at home. The teachers say as long as they are not disturbing other kids, then they are fine. They both talk alot though!

They are growing up so fast. Logan turned 9 yesterday!
