A few pics from her life....

It would be easy to fill up pages and pages of blog posts with pics of K. After all, she is our first child - the one we are learning to most with - the one who is paving the way for her siblings and for us as parents. This past Friday we celebrated her 11th b-day...here's a little about her...

K was DUE on April 13th but came on April 17th instead. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise - her dad was in the Police Academy and really couldn't miss a single day - by being born on Friday, he was able to be there and not miss any school. K came quick for being my first baby - 3 hours - start to finish! She was 7lb. 5.0z and 20". She had a ton of black hair and the nurses had a great time playing with it! We took K home on a Monday and by Wednesday night she was sleeping all night long. Wow - were we blessed. We thought that was normal - HA!

Not long after K was born, my mom got married - so K attended her first wedding - December of 1998!K has always loved her stuffed animals - they all have names and personalities to her. Even still. This loving attitude has carried on throughout her life to those around her. She generally cares about those in need, those hurting, those that need a little extra love.
K has also been our adventure child. This accident started a string of accidents that would carry through her 7th birthday. Here, she ran head on into a wall at the church and split her head open. We took her to the hospital where she received 7 stitches. Every year after that we suffered some sort of facial injury with K. Black Eyes, busted chin, etc..
K has always been a ham for the camera too! Her smile and big blue eyes have fascinated us - even today.
This lucky duck loves to travel and is blessed to have a family that shares in this love. When she was just 4 she got to go to Hawaii. She loved the sandy beaches and she made friends wherever she went. She just has the outgoing personality!
Over the years, K has developed a love for fishing too. Her Grandpa Ross loves to take her every chance he can. With her "bounce off the walls" personality - it's amazing that she sits still long enough to catch anything!
Before we knew it - our 7lb bundle of joy was becoming a beautiful young lady. She is funny, smart, witty, loving, and an all around good girl.
She is service oriented and loves to help those in need.
And now here she is - 11yrs old - with a whole world ahead of her. Big things awaiting her. She is the oldest of 4, she is the first grandchild for both our families, she is a leader, she is spunky, she is sensitive, she is caring, she is funny, she loves to read, to ride a bike, to tell jokes, to help out, to be more grown up than she is. Her favorite color is blue, favorite food is shrimp pasta, favorite candy is jolly ranchers and her best friend is Hannah - from school. She is growing right before our eyes. She makes us so proud each and every day. She keeps us on our toes. She is a gift from our Heavenly Father and he has big plans for her - this we know. We are so grateful to have her in our family! K we love you - we hope you had a stupendous b-day and that you'll have many, many more. We are proud of the young woman that you're becoming and we know that your Heavenly Father is proud of you too. Happy Birthday to you!

I think K is proof that Heavenly Father handpicks our earthly homes. You are such an amazing mother to her, and to all of your children. The sacrifices and things you have done for your kids is an example to me of what motherhood really is all about. I hope she had a wonderful birthday :)
