sledding

This is the time of year to go sledding! It's snowing constantly - and there are plenty of hills around to use (including a small one in our front yard!)

It's been snowing for 2 days now and since our driveway is steeper than our yard, the kids have been using it to sled on.

Tim got out and got the driveway semi-cleaned today so that the wheels on the van don't just spin and spin when we're trying to come home from somewhere! Anyway... the snow is picking up now and the flakes are huge. This is a visual invitation to go sledding! So the boots get put on, the gloves too and the sleds are waiting by the door.

M says "can you give me my boots?" and I ask "where are you going?" to which she replies "sledding"!

"Ok - but make sure you sled in the yard and not on the driveway"

With a puzzled look on her face she replies "why?" and I explain that when they sled on the driveway it packs down the snow and makes ice. She quickly responds (with a tone that says something like "have you lost your mind?") "but there is snow in the yard!"

Uh - yeah - isn't that the point?
