Crazy kids, cupcakes, and soccer!

WAHOO... after numerous attempts, I finally got these pictures transfered to my blog... wonder what the heck is wrong with Picassa and this blog - maybe they aren't getting along right now... maybe they had a fight!
Anyway... Here are a few things that happened last week!

First... last week was "Drug Awareness" week at school and all week long they had different themes to the days. Thursday was crazy hair day "don't be crazy - use your head and stay away from drugs!" - so M got a mowhawk of rubber bands and orange hair and N, well... it was just funky - and it was sprayed orange too!
Then I decided that some of my neighbors deserved cupcakes - so we made these! Aren't they cute? The kids had a blast delivering them to their friends!

On Saturday we woke up to COLD temperatures and RAIN!! It was N's last soccer game of the fall season and unless it is a blizzard or there is lightening - the kids play. Yeah - crazy - I know! The funny thing about the opposing team - it was made up of kids from N's baseball team last spring, so Tim and I were calling out THEIR names as well and you should have seen the looks on their faces - like "ugh, how do you know me?" hehheheee! In the top collage you can see N counting the other players - making sure they are evenly matched. (he's a stickler for rules). You can see the storm over the mountains! You can see some of N's plays on the ball.

In this collage are some of my most favorite pictures from the game. This is the only game that we took the camera to this year. Afterall, when your child plays soccer season after season - how many soccer pics do you really need? In the upper left N was blocking a defender from getting the ball - he loves playing defender and since he is comfortable kicking with his right and left foot - he's dangerous! In the upper right corner N saved a goal and is booting the ball back down the field - he can really kick! In the bottom right corner you see N and the goalie - NICK. Nick is N's best friend - they've been in classes together since kindergarten, they've played sports together - baseball and soccer. N is Nick's last defense before the goal - and they work well together. In this shot there was a corner kick by the other team and N went to block it but he missed - and I love that you can see Nick right there - eyes on the ball - ready. Yep -that's one of my favorite pics from the game (good job Tim!!). The boys lost 5-0. Their 3rd loss of the season - and the biggest loss too. They were disappointed but I don't think they cared too much. Many of them just wanted to get inside and warm up!
It was a great season - and I LOVED watching N play. He's matured a lot in the game and he loves playing! Thanks for a great fall season N, we are so proud of you and how you played!! Can't wait for the Spring season!!
