3 years ago my children started a quest...a quest to pay for a cruise. We decided, as a family, that we would save for a vacation and when we hit the amount we needed, then we would go! We got a 5 gallon water jug and that became our "vacation fund" container. We told the kids that they could choose between DISNEY LAND or a CRUISE. They unanimously choose a cruise - to my surprise. So here we are, after 5 yard sales, multiple birthdays, selling things on KSL, finding pennies in parking lots, etc... preparing to leave in just a few days for a cruise aboard the Carnival Conquest!!
We will fly from SLC to New Orleans, where we will board this beautiful ship and then spend 7 days floating in the Caribbean and visiting places like Belize (above) [that's a pic of the "blue hole" just off of the coast of Belize - it's a sink hole, about 400 ft. deep - famous for scuba divers!]
Roatan (above) - just love this port - so primitive and beautiful! The food is tasty too!
and Cozumel (above).
We will see some ancient ruins, play with a few monkeys, and hang out on the beach!
We won't be doing this trip alone either! My brother and his family are joining us - in fact, it was their idea to go at this time of year and to do a whole 7 days (we were originally going to do 5!). My dad and Ronda will also be going, as well as Mrs. Martha and Niels (this will be their first cruise - yipee). So -there will be 15 of us causing a ruckus on the ship!!
We have spent many months looking at menus with the kids, telling them about all the fun there is to be had, the shows at night and the live music all day long! We have talked about the beautiful sights they'll see and the memories we'll make. They are so excited - and so am I!! This is cruise #9 for me - can you believe that? It's #5 for Tim, #2 for K, and #1 for the rest of em' - I'm sure we're creating monsters here!!

Next it is my turn!
I think it is so cool that everyone helped save the money for the cruise. They will remember it forever. I can't wait!!
So fun! Hope y'all have a blast!
