Last night, as Tim was putting the kids to bed, I caught a glimpse of L and his actions. All of our kids have ALWAYS (even as infants) gone to bed pretty much on their own. They go to their rooms, we kiss em' goodnight, and close their doors and that's it! BUT NO - not L!! He's had to be held until he falls asleep and then when you put him down he would usually wake up screaming and we all know how joyful that is!!
Recently, however, L has been going to bed on his own and last night I took the time to observe this treasure! We said prayers and everyone gave hugs and kisses all around. L even put his head in the mix to be kissed. He grabbed his bottle and then he followed each sibling into their rooms (almost as if to say goodnight). Then when the lights were off he came running back to me, put his head down for a kiss and then ran to his room where he pulled on the railing of his crib.
COOL!!! I think he gets it! He's been doing this for a bit - but it was fun to watch and realize that as little as he is, he can grasp the concept of going to bed and for Mom, it's wonderful!
