Strange journal question..

Q: Describe a 'Sound' from your childhood. What was it? When did you hear it? What does it bring to mind?
A: Now, I had to think about this a little. It's hard to recall a "sound" unless you're hearing the sound that drums up the memory. But there was something that came to mind. It is the sound of helicopters. You know the loud rhythmic sound of each blade chopping the air as this giant bird moves along. We didn't live near an airport or even a military base. However, while living in California, we lived near a prison. It seemed like once a week someone was making an escape! (I'm not sure that that's the reason for the constant searches done by the helicopters or not but it's sounds good - right?). Anyway, those loud things would fly right over our home once a week or so. On occasion we'd get the spotlight as well - especially when they were flying low - and you knew they were looking for someone. We had a swimming pool and we'd often pretend that they were looking for us! BUT if we went under water when the helicopter was coming then they couldn't see us and that's why we were never caught!

Never would have thought about that question. Interesting. But the funny thing is...I could have come up with an answer too.
