SATURDAY (4-4-09): It's General Conference and the kids got tired of being inside - so out they went! L really wanted to play with them too but since I was wrapped up in watching conference there was no way that I could be outside to keep an eye on him. So he observed the bigger kids from the front room. Poor guy - he really wanted to go out too!
MONDAY: (click to enlarge) - 1st day of Spring break! I gave the kids a choice between "airplanes" and "dinosaurs" and they chose airplanes! So off to Hill AFB we went. They have an extensive Aerospace museum there - best part is that it's FREE!!! We learned a little about the many wars and the aircraft that was used to fight them. The kids got to sit in a jump seat and K and N dressed up like pilots and flew in an F-16 simulator. There was a pilot there that actually taught K how to take off and land one of the watercraft planes. When we were done we bought some astronaut ice-cream just to try - INTERESTING is the word that comes to mind.
TUESDAY: Today our adventures took us to Ogden, UT to the Dinosaur Park. We learned about a variety of dinosaurs that use to roam this area. After seeing the bones and different items in nature that resemble food - we went outside for a picnic in the warm sun and a walk through the various dinosaur trails. M like the "Mystery Trail" - which was full of dinosaurs whose names began with "Myst...". After our walk we played in the park too. We stopped at Wal-mart on the way home and picked up some paint and decided to paint our garden boxes as well. K wanted an apple orchard on hers, N wanted rockets and aliens and M just wanted sunshine and flowers! They will be planting their own gardens this summer and taking care of them too - what fun!
WEDNESDAY: The weather turned cold and the rain came too but that didn't stop us from taking a hike to Ensign Peak. My calves were burning most of the time - that's good right?! The kids ran at first but started to slow down half way into it. I took what pics I could of the scenery that we were seeing but with the cloud cover it was pretty hard to get a good view of the city below! When we were done with our hike, we headed over to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers museum. What a wonderful place to visit. There was so much to see. Unfortunately we were asked to not take pictures inside of the museum. It was so hard to resist the temptation - but I didn't give in, so the things that we saw will just have to live in our minds!
THURSDAY: Today brought more gloomy skies and no exciting trips! K and N had check ups. They are just growing like weeds (ok, slow growing weeds) K is in the 25th percentile for height and weight and N is in the 40th. They both have great vision and everything is looking good. L kept occupied by sucking on a sucker - his favorite candy of ALL TIME! And M kept busy by reading a book. Afterwards we rushed home to get N changed for t-ball practice. The weather cleared up enough for them to finally have a practice (they've been cancelled for the last 3 weeks). He had fun and says that he wants to play every sport! He took a ball to the chest (see pic above) but he didn't let it go. When the coach asked if he was alright he started to cry - he HATES attention like that and got a little embarrassed. But it passed quickly and he was back to playing again. Looks like it will be a great season!
So there you have it - our jam packed week! It went by so fast! Next week won't be much different. Sure the kids are back in school but we have ANOTHER b-day coming, Easter, and more!! Until next time...have a great weekend ya'll!
