SATURDAY (4-11-09) - There are 7 houses in our little circle and each year we get together and organize a neighborhood egg hunt for those that are under the age of 12. There were 60 kids invited to this one. We use all 7 yards and divide them up into age group areas. N was in our yard as that was designated for boys 6-7yrs old. The kids love this egg hunt because not only do they find eggs but they also find cookie cutters, pudding cups, hot wheel cars, flowers, butterfly nets, and more! M was pretty upset before the hunt started because she couldn't find what yard she was supposed to be in. But no worries - we found it! Her friend, Mystery, was even there - that made everything better! As the evening drew nigh we colored eggs - a fun tradition that L got to join in on this year!
SUNDAY: The EB visited our home again. That silly rabbit must not discriminate between good kids and ornery kids! (j/k). All the baskets were filled - except K's - there was a note and some candy in it. As her sleepy eyes read the note she looked at me and asked if the EB told me a secret. That little conversation eventually led her to the laundry room where she found a new bike waiting for her! All the kids were so excited for K and N said "YEAH - now I can have my bike back!"
Later I made a chocolate cake with peeps on it to look like a sunflower, and we had some family come over for Easter dinner! We love having the gang over - there is always so much laughter and joy when everyone is around! It was a good Easter!
TUESDAY (click to enlarge): Tim stayed home to help me get the girls consolidated into one room. I totally spaced taking "before" pics - but imagine this room with a queen bed - yeah, hard to do now! A while we tossed around the idea of who would share a room - the boys or the girls. K decided that she wanted to keep the room she was in because of the TV - so she opted to share! We got a bunk bed WAH LA - transformed room! They love it!
WEDNESDAY: Not sure what happened. I know that the weather was bad so the soccer games were cancelled (again). Poor N - if he plays on Saturday it will FINALLY be his first game of the season!
THURSDAY: We love getting mail from the grandparents that love us! Today cards came in for the kids from Grandma Martha and Grandma Sandy. L is the best when it comes to opening cards - he doesn't really know what to expect - or that it even says anything - so he just looks for the prize inside! This time there was $2.00 in there - thanks GRANDMA M!! Tonight is also the eve of K's 11th b-day. Tim and I waited until she was asleep to blow up balloons and put them all over her room. It was fun to hear her screech in the morning and see the reaction of all the kids as they suddenly found balloons everywhere!
FRIDAY: I will post more on this chick later - but for now, my oldest sweetheart is 11 today. Where does the time go? Our plans are to take her to a Hockey game tonight - she loves Hockey! But my sitter called at 7am and said she was sick and cancelled and I haven't found a replacement yet so I might be staying home while she goes with her dad. No worries though, if that happens I'll just sit and eat chocolate cake!
So happy weekend everyone! Hope you have a good one. Hope the weather is nice wherever you are!
