a few pics - for grandparent benefit!

Ok - so I have some pictures to share. These are mostly of my family and our time together. For many of you this won't mean anything - so this post is mostly for grandparent benefit. Anyway - ENJOY!
On Thursday we visited the tallest capital in the nation - Baton Rouge! We went to the top (ugh that made my tummy hurt) and walked around - I went around as quickly as I could and then went inside! Later we hit the local wal-mart for some LSU gear! If you're walmart doesn't have an ENTIRE isle dedicated to the state college - well, that's just a shame!!
A few fun shots - L loved the airplane - he thought it was his jungle gym and every passenger - his friend. Sunny and M hit it off - again - they just love that they are cousins! We hit the local Tiger Mania shop and the kids had fun trying on the FB helmets and of course we had to see the tiger and pose for a picture near the cage. Cam and Jess (my baby brother) were kind enough to drive us 1/2 way to Baton Rouge and then pick us up again too - thanks guys!
It was always HOT - every day - as you can see from the near 90 degree temp on the thermometer (at 11am!). We saw my aunt Donna and my grandma Alice - who always has fresh cookies in her cookie jar! She also made me a fresh lemon pie - with lemons from her tree! YUM! We cut roses from her garden and took them to the cemetery too. We visited my Grandpa Jack and my cousin, Mandy at the cemetery - it was good to share their memories with the kids. Tim took me on a date to Ninfa's, coffee call, and movie (Angels and Demons)- it was a nice night! Martha got a slip & slide for the kids - they loved it. And we drove by my grandma Ross' old home - this is the first time my kids have seen it. You can see (on the right) that the roof is missing - a tree fell on it in 92' during hurricane Andrew. They left the home and the trees grew up around it - well, it's been cleared in an effort to tear down the home and build a new one. This may be the last time I see that place!

We headed back to Mississippi on Friday - said goodbye to Grandma Martha and Grandpa Niels and headed to Uncle Pickle's home (my brother). Had a fish fry - yum, jumped on the trampoline and played on the riding ice-chest! That's right - this thing is mobile! The kids can ride it - it has an engine in it, and it cools your drinks too! Saturday we hit the reservoir and rode the jet ski, and pulled the kids on the blow up boat behind us! N was chased by a gaggle of geese and my cousin Keri showed up to visit too! L was plum worn out and the kids all got a little sun (some more than others!) It was a great day!
