SUNDAY: Tim is fine. As normal and you and me! Walking around fine, not whining about anything, helping with dinner, and so on. Later on Sunday night he says "man, my shin hurts. Does it look swollen to you?" (but it didn't) - so he rubbed on it a little and that was that. It wasn't bruised or anything - so no worries!
MONDAY: Alarm goes off at 7am. We lay there... dreading another Monday.. typical. Tim gets up first, cringes and falls back to the bed. "Man, my ankle hurts" - he hobbles his way through the morning.
Moaning & groaning continue throughout the day. He hops here and there, winces, grimaces, and so one. The swelling in his ankle is starting to increase and nothing seems to help.
TUESDAY: Science fair... this was the scene....
Fortunately we have a few pairs of crutches - and since the whining was continuing and the swelling hadn't gone down... it was best to get Tim on them. He hobbled his way through the day but the pain got worse and the anti-inflamatories that we have weren't really doing much at this point. So, when I just couldn't take it anymore.... I sent him off to the nearest "InstaCare".
We thought that the pain could have been caused by gout. Tim has gout - in his toes - but it is possible to get it in your ankles too. We found out that this wasn't the case at all.
Final diagnosis.... a peroneal ligament strain. Probably happened a few weeks ago when Tim was playing soccer and planted his foot in a way that it didn't want to be planted. I know, I know, you're thinking "a few weeks ago?" - well, YEAH - sometimes you're hurt and your body just doesn't know it yet - until you do something like... uh... RUB YOUR SHIN BECAUSE IT'S A LITTLE SORE!!! (Sunday). So, Tim came home from the InstaCare with the instructions to obtain a BOOT for the low, LOW cost of $185.00!! WHOA!
After a few phone calls and another trip to a Dr., Tim was fitted with this boot.... for FREE!!! (yes, we are blessed!) So, now he gets to hobble in this (with the aid of crutches for a few days), for at least 2 weeks. He says that he can feel a difference already - in the stabilization and pain and such. So, here we are..... told you that it was gonna be "one of those weeks"!

Glad he got over his "manhood" and surrendered to a Doctors visit. :) Now he'll be good as new in a couple of weeks instead of suffering in pain for a couple of months.
You guys just keep it up. I will sit and chuckle at your comments, but you know what they say about payback :)
Dang it! It sucks when your body gets hurt for no apparent reason and then-BAM. You get a boot.
