Shakespeare Sonatas

K has been working VERY hard since January for the Shakespeare Sonatas that her school is preparing to perform in Cedar City this summer. As you know, K was one of 40 or so students selected to be in the performance... so it's a special honor for her. She hasn't been getting home from school until about 6pm for the past few months, and this has made it very difficult on all of us... but this past Friday we got to see the efforts or their work as they performed for the parents.

K is one of the only students that made an appearance in all 3 plays. She played the main narrator for Romeo & Juliet, she danced in the waltz (a waltz that she wrote just for the play), and she was in the "Jets" dance too.

In Macbeth, K was in the witches chorus... I loved her hair and make up!! and in Taming of the Shrew she was a narrator again. K was chosen for the narration parts because of her reading/speaking ability. Any of you that know her knows that this is certainly a talent of hers... and through these rehearsals K has learned to even slow down a bit and articulate - a skill that will be invaluable to her in her life time.

These are just a few other shots that we got. I couldn't help but think of how grown up K looked the whole time! M loved that her "big sis" was in the show and she kept yelling and clapping for her! WAY TO GO K - you worked so hard and the cast and crew are lucky to have you!!

Now the students will be moving on to Cedar City.... they will continue to rehearse into July. K will not be joining the cast down there, however. We are sad about that - but it was a choice that she had to make, a difficult one at that, but she was happy to be part of the show - even if for a short time. WAY TO GO K - we are so proud of you!!
